lyrics
I was only twenty miles from home
When it hit me, that there’s no permanence here
Just conversations carried on the wind
Rising up to try and touch the sky
But I know the worst is over
I have the end in sight
The weight is off my shoulders
You were always better off alone
I’ve discovered that there's no innocence here
Just conversations living in my head
Whispered words that are buried deep inside
But I know the worst is over
I have the end in sight
The weight is off my shoulders
And I am full of hope
I am sure that something’s gonna change
Cuz something’s gonna change
I know
I am only a solitary man
Boxing shadows of contradicting truths
Sacrifice is nothing without hope
I'll take my fat and cast it to the wind
But I know the worst is over
I have the end in sight
The weight is off my shoulders
And I am full of hope
I am sure that something’s gonna change
Cuz something’s gonna change
I know
And I am full of hope
I am sure that something’s gonna change
Cuz something’s gotta change
I know
Outfitting harmonnic indie rock with elements of folk, surf, and more, this D.C. quartet have a warm, homespun sound that's easy to love. Bandcamp New & Notable Jan 18, 2024
Boston post-punk outfit Junk Ranchers broke up in 1986 before this, their debut album, was released; darkly melodic, it's a long-lost gem. Bandcamp New & Notable Dec 22, 2020
This is a decent album, but it just doesn’t check as many boxes for me as “Maps of Revenge and Forgiveness” does. I love the fact that it makes a concerned statement about the current, alarming state of the world due to our race’s negligent behaviours. Kudos for that and the added link for our enlightenment! There are definite similarities to Thom Yorke and Radiohead here. 7/10. Alrihkh
