A fracture
A schism
A break in reality
Change in this picture
Of life
What happened?
We saw God
And we’re not afraid anymore
Emboldened
The world is spinning
It just keeps spinning away
Until it stops
The heart beat sinking down
What happens now?
As we shudder to life
Torn and elated
Just keep spinning down
Make no sound
A flicker of a heart beat
Disintegrating everything
Calm
To the storm
The eyes are crying
The mouth is smiling (and)
Straining
And regaining
That sweet taste of consciousness
Lost on the rest of us
Hope
To dream
To dream once more of this place
What happens now?
As we shudder to life
Torn and elated
Just keep spinning down
Open your eyes
As we shudder to life
Torn and elated
Just keep spinning
Down
I cant explain
Have I lost my way
No place to escape
This emotion and pain
I heard you scream
As if from a dream
torn from the light
Left alone dark as night
I used to be
Now I can see
Am I alone
Please take me home
Lost my way
Believing
Lost my way
Is seeing
Lost my way
Looking inside
Lost my way
Outfitting harmonnic indie rock with elements of folk, surf, and more, this D.C. quartet have a warm, homespun sound that's easy to love. Bandcamp New & Notable Jan 18, 2024
Boston post-punk outfit Junk Ranchers broke up in 1986 before this, their debut album, was released; darkly melodic, it's a long-lost gem. Bandcamp New & Notable Dec 22, 2020
This is a decent album, but it just doesn’t check as many boxes for me as “Maps of Revenge and Forgiveness” does. I love the fact that it makes a concerned statement about the current, alarming state of the world due to our race’s negligent behaviours. Kudos for that and the added link for our enlightenment! There are definite similarities to Thom Yorke and Radiohead here. 7/10. Alrihkh
