lyrics
Floating up above the madness
Reigning over me
Wrap myself within the silence
Trying to break free
Oh lost in a million questions
I’m losing my point of view
Oh tossed in a sea of madness
My world has been torn in two
Watching as the lights below me
Slowly fade from view
Close my eyes release the moment
Thoughts fall back to you
Oh lost in a million questions
I’m losing my point of view
Oh tossed in a sea of madness
My world has been torn in two
Then there’s you...
There’s you…
…and
Almost feels like home
Nothing less than nothing
Nothing left for me
Nothing left but worry
Nothing I can see
There’s nothing left to guide me
Nothing left to hear
Nothing less than nothing
Nothing left but fear
Nothing less than nothing
Nothing left for me
Nothing left but worry
Nothing I can see
There’s nothing on the inside
Nothing on the out
Nothing in the middle
Nothing left but doubt
There's nothing left to guide me
Nothing left to hear
Nothing less than nothing
Nothing left but fear
There's nothing on the left of me
And nothing on the right
Nothing left to die for
Cause there’s nothing left to fight
I almost lost my way
My reasons led astray
As I float in darkness
Drifting from the truth
Pulling at the heart strings
Looking for the proof
Something to remind me
Something from a dream
Tries to break inside me
A whisper to a scream
Caught inside the slipstream
Loosing all control
Memories are fading
The rush before the fall
Stumble through the darkness
Past the rubicon
Grasping at the shadows
Till everything is gone
Outfitting harmonnic indie rock with elements of folk, surf, and more, this D.C. quartet have a warm, homespun sound that's easy to love. Bandcamp New & Notable Jan 18, 2024
Boston post-punk outfit Junk Ranchers broke up in 1986 before this, their debut album, was released; darkly melodic, it's a long-lost gem. Bandcamp New & Notable Dec 22, 2020

This is a decent album, but it just doesn’t check as many boxes for me as “Maps of Revenge and Forgiveness” does. I love the fact that it makes a concerned statement about the current, alarming state of the world due to our race’s negligent behaviours. Kudos for that and the added link for our enlightenment! There are definite similarities to Thom Yorke and Radiohead here. 7/10. Alrihkh
